You thought this was going to be another display of a Jew failing at outdoor work? Nope!
Although Jews like me are horrible handymen, this is proof that Jews CAN do yard work! Forget calling those lawn care people that keep sending me ads in the mail. My father-in-law and I crushed this lawn and should probably start our own lawn business!
My father-in-law and I grew this yard in just a few simple steps:
First we stripped up the old, dying grass and threw it away.
Then I planted the seed and starter fertilizer. Both were the Scotts brand.
I used a sprinkler and watered sections of the entire yard for 10-15 minute intervals almost every night for the first 10 days. And it rained for a couple of the nights so that was helpful and saved me some water.
After a couple weeks, I over-seeded the entire yard. Basically putting down as much (or more) seed than when I first seeded it.
I concentrated on the parts that didn’t have as much grass growing in. And I repeated the watering process every other night (10-15 minutes on every section of the yard).
Some people have told me that the best time to water the lawn is in the morning, but I’m not a morning person and I have a 9 to 5 job, so the night is my only option.
Do whatever you want, and don’t pester me if you’re some expert and want to tell me I’m doing it all wrong. Look at the results, jerk!
