FBI Headquarters, Washington, D.C. — One of the most iconic children’s book series in American history may be banned, as it turns out the Berenstain Bears were found to be slave owners.
In a plea deal with the FBI, Papa and Mama Bear confessed to using squirrels, bees, and other lesser animals to complete their adventures without pay. After the adventures were completed, Papa and Mama Bear would report to the creators and authors of the series that they did all the work.
“This is as big as the Milli Vanilli lip syncing scandal. People taking credit for other people’s work,” an FBI spokesperson said.
Brother and Sister Bear, the children of Papa and Mama Bear, chose to take the 5th, but it is believed they were victims of child labor. In many cases they would join the lesser animals on their quests to serve Papa and Mama Bear.
The plea deal with the FBI reduces Papa and Mama Bear’s sentence from 30 years to 5 years in a minimum security forest.
